Boredom Is a Good Sign

Boredom….

Life stretching from one yawn to the next

Days pile high

On the spiritual plane Boredom with life, the world, with job, relationships and whatever else signifies Spiritual Awakening. The first step on the spiritual path is feeling bogged down by daily routines, wondering “What’s next?” or “Can there be something more to life than what I’m experiencing now?”

Boredom gets you thinking, sets you searching…

Animals never get bored. They eat, sleep, procreate and finito, life is over! Humans are gifted with an intellect and a mind that gets bored quickly.

So, next time you find yourself sleeping over a meeting, don’t get anxious. Simply smile…

Wake up and see – your boredom will take you somewhere!

This is what Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has to say:

“In one sense boredom is a blessing. Because you get bored, you move on, you look forward, you become a seeker and you rise higher. At the same time, boredom is also a curse because it doesn’t allow you to be stabilized in one place; stabilized in yourself, and your mind keeps jumping from one place to another aimlessly. You get bored about everything and you can’t enjoy anything.”

“Boredom is a blessing when it leads you to wisdom. And boredom is a curse when it leads you to frustration and depression.”

See which category you fall into. If it’s the second, meditate, serve others and rise in Bliss. Either which way, keep moving forward, keep rising towards the Light! (( ;
